Today is Elvis's birthday, he would be 78 today if he had lived past age 42. So today, to honor the King of Rock 'n Roll, I planned to do a medley of his songs. Now whenever you hear the word medley, you probably think of all of one persons items (songs) mushed into one thing, but that's not what I'm doing, I'm going to do multiple songs in this one blog post.
The songs I was thinking about doing are from his movies.
The first song is (Such An) Easy Question. I picked this song because I feel like everyone beats around the bush when faced with that question (do you love me?) but not only that question, as humans, we tend to beat around the bush about almost every thing, we don't really like confrontation, but even that is stereotypical, some people love confrontation.
The second song is One Broken Heart For Sale. This song is a good broken heart song. This song is one of those songs that makes you almost want to hate the person it's about (it makes me), because you ultimately feel sorry for the singer. I haven't seen the movie this is from, so I don't know what the movie scene was about, but I can guess it was about a broken heart.
The third song is All That I Am. I love this song because it is a really nice love song.
The fourth song is G.I. Blues. This song is his 'soldier song' (in my opinion). It's from the movie, G.I. Blues, which is about a soldier touring Germany who wants to open a nightclub after getting out of the army. It's funny, because when Elvis was in the army from 1958 to 1960, he toured Germany, so it's ironic.
The fifth song is Jailhouse Rock. This song is from his third movie with the same title. I love this song, because it really has that rock n' roll feel to it and I love that version of Elvis Presley, not that I don't love his slower stuff like his ballads. I love every version of Elvis, but I love this version the most.
The sixth song is I Got Lucky. This song is from the movie, Kid Galahad, which was a boxer movie. I love this part in the movie, it's sweet, because it's him trying to get the girl.
The seventh song is Shake That Tambourine. This song is from Harum Sacrum. I like this song because it makes me dance and smile and I like that feeling.
The eighth song is Rock-a-Hula Baby. This song is from Blue Hawaii. I like this song because it makes me dance and smile and I like that feeling.
